After the blockbuster 3 Idiots, author Chetan Bhagat is set to see another one of his bestsellers The 3 Mistakes of My Life adapted into a movie by director Abhishek Kapoor(Rock On Fame Director). The film Kai Po Che! is being produced by UTV Spotboy.
The book was first published in May 2008 and UTV Motion Pictures officially bought the rights to the bestselling book. Abhishek Kapoor dons the director’s mantle for the first time since Rock On!
The film, which has a new cast, highlights the coming of age of a group of three middle class youth. Television actor Sushant Singh Rajput (Pavitra Rishta fame), Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh play the lead roles.Amit Sadh was seen television shows like ‘Kyun Hota Hai Pyar’,’Nach Baliye’, ‘Guns and Roses’ and also the first season of Bigg Boss. Rajkumar Yadav has acted in Bollywood films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha and Ragini MMS.
Chetan’s book is set in Gujarat so the shooting is done in the state to capture the essence and remain true to the ethos of Gujarat.
Kai Po Che! will also see talented musician Amit Trivedi as its composer. Amit had given music for DevD and Udaan. Javed Akhtar is penning the lyrics of the film.
